Opiate use, addiction and escalating death rates are a growing concern in the United States. Prescription, illegal and designer drugs are taking a toll on our society. The rich, the poor, it does not seem to matter. The medical community, to their credit, has no need or desire to create addicts, they really just want to control pain and misery. New research seems to indicate that Chiropractic may be able to help them do that.
A recent study published in the Journal of Alternative and Complementary Medicine¹ looked opiate use for back pain with adults in New Hampshire. The patients ranged from 18-99 years old and had to have at least 2 visits to the doctor for low back pain in a 90-day period. When Chiropractic was used for treating back pain, those patients had a 55% reduction in prescription opiate use, while there was no drop in opiate prescription use for the groups not receiving Chiropractic care.
This research is an honest look how Chiropractic improves lives!
